My once a day multi vitamin program had been pretty steady until one day a week or so ago I noted I had missed taking them for a few days. What had happened was I had been trying to take one with my morning coffee before heading off to work. That seemed simple enough and once I had incorporated it into a routine, I broke the routine and forgot the multi vitamin for a few days. Sweet Roast made a great suggestion that may get that routine back on track. She suggested I take a bottle and put it in my office next to my computer screen. The idea was that I’d see them there and would be reminded early in the day to take one. She even picked up a women’s formula multi vitamin and put her bottle next to her computer screen at work. A couple weeks into this new routine we’re still getting used to the switch but I suspect in another week it’ll become a regular part of our morning. As for mornings not spent at work I still have a bottle of the multi vitamins at home and I’ll try to carry the weekday routine into the weekends. I’m sure it sounds as if I’m making a simple task sound far more complicated than it is, but we are busy people with busy lives so something as simple as taking a pill each morning does take a bit of work to wedge into a tight schedule, but it will work out in the end. Also, since we both know we require the ‘extra’ vitamins and minerals (although mostly trace amounts) provided from a multi vitamin we’ll make the effort to build taking one into a routine.
