The Weight Is Over!
It had to happen sooner or later. Sweet Roast found a burst of energy and did some spring cleaning and in the process came up with a great suggestion. She wants to start doing some basic (and light) weightlifting. We had all the tools and I have tons of knowledge on designing programs for beginners and beyond. The goal is to start with some light upper body exercises in front of the television using free weights. I’ve always liked using free weights and I have a collection of dumbbells ranging from 10 pounds to 25 pounds in weight. We even talked about moving one of our weight benches (we have one each) out of storage and onto the front deck so we can add more advanced parts to our weightlifting program once we reach that point. I thought it was an excellent idea. All we need now is a free afternoon to clear off the section of the deck we plan to use and to pull out the weight bench. I’m pretty sure that once we start working out together it’ll bring us both many benefits. We actually used to ‘work out’ together when we first met, so it would be a lot of fun to go back to that. There’s a lot of reasons why this can work for the both of us and I’m excited about it!
